If you want to start a creative business, we have some good news for you! You can benefit from grants of up to 25,000 euros from European funds that will be accessible through the funding scheme Creative Romania. The funding line will be probably available starting September 2016, according to the new revised schedule for POCU. The total amount for all funding line belonging to the POCU funding scheme will be around 190 million euros.
Who can access these funds?
The funding scheme Creative Romania will benefit employees or the unemployed people. They will be able to access up to 25,000 Euros for opening businesses in the creative industries, such as production of software, video games, video editing, crafts, design, architecture, and advertising. Moreover, the money will not be available for Bucharest – Ilfov region, which is considered a developed one.Thus, those targeted for support of up to 25,000 euros are individuals who intend to set up a business with nonagricultural profiles in urban areas , in one of Romania’s less developed regions (Northeast, Northwest, West, South – West Oltenia, Central, Southeast and South Muntenia), in a field related to creative industries.
How to apply?
The application will be available online starting the beginning of September. The candidates will need to complete and upload a file request, alongside with their business plan in order for them to be evaluated by the representatives of the Ministry of European Funds.
According to the Applicant’s Guide published on the site of the Ministry of European Funds, the money will be given in three stages: Stage I: entrepreneurial education and mentoring program, Phase II: Developing the business plan, Phase III: Establishing the company / business / idea of business operation.
